Place and Hotel

Perugia is a town rich in history and monuments and is the cultural pole of Umbria. The great "Arce Guelfa" is located in the middle of the country, and includes five historical districts surrounded by Etruscan walls. The enormous bastions were made up of huge squared rocks, placed 22 centuries ago. They are still visible for long tracts. When Rome was just slightly more than an encampment, the Etruscan Perugia could already be reached through seven doors, the main of which being the Porta Pulchra (d'Augusto).
By entering the town through the Porta San Pietro, there is the Basilica di San Domenico. In its cloister and in the adjacent convent, there is the Archeological National Museum, which is one of the most important museums in Italy.
In the Sopramuro square, there is the Old University Palace, built in the 14th century, and the Palace of the Capitano del Popolo. Few meters away, there is the Big Square (Piazza Grande) of Perugia. At its center, there is the big fountain named Fontana Maggiore, built in the 12th century. This is one of the most important squares of the country. Here there is also the huge Cathedral and the Palazzo dei Priori.
At the opposite side of Corso Vannucci there is the famous Belvedere garden, located over the base of the Rocca Paolina, the fortress built by Pope Paul III in 1540. This base includes, like under an enormous bell, a full district of the old city, a kind of old Medieval Pompei which is worth visit.
The flight of Via delle Pome, starting from Arch D'Augusto, accompanies the turist to the highest place of the town, where the Porta Sole fortress was built in the 14th century by Gattapone and lately destroyed. The San Francesco palace and the Oratory of San Bernardino are also worth visit.
This is a luxury hotel, located on a hiltop in the historical center of Perugia.

The Hotel is very close to the main monuments of the town: an ideal position for visiting the most important historical attractions. The Hotel offers a wonderful view of the Umbria Valley. The rooms are furnished with vintage furnitures. Among the many comforts of this renowned Hotel, there is the suggestive internal swimming pool, surrounded by Etruscan walls.
The gastronomy service is renowned for its refined courses, in which typical tastes are matched to international flavours and to the creativity suggestions of a top level Chef.
